Review for Castle Archdale Caravan Park on 9th July 2020 submitted by P Mason
Having stayed here a few times, and with kids of various ages 9 11 and 14 we have aways found Castle Archdale to be a great stay, weather permitting of course. Unless your into watersports, then the weather doesnt really matter. We were gutted to have missed the clubs booking the weekend before we arrived but sadly work constraints and other commitments meant we couldnt attend.
The sites are all well positioned, plenty of space for a large awning and bikes etc and thankfully the facilites which opened on 3rd July are well kept, clean and close by. They are currently installing glamping pods so there will be a new offering available soon for new customers to enjoy some of the beautiful walks, cycle paths or close by lough erne. We will be back.

Well its not the best site in the world neither is it the worst. We stayed on a superior pitch which In reality with a motorhome we would have to used in order to have water on our pitch. Its Fermanagh so automatically its beautiful & the staff are superb, It is a clean tidy place with the added attraction of a chip shop bar & a shop. The toilet shower facilities & ability to wash dishes etc are great.
Now to the downside or really if I was an owner how I think it could be improved. The laundry from is to far away from the touring pitches another laundry area or building could be put opposite the toilet block. There needs to be a footpath from the touring area to the shop bar reception area, at the minute customers have to walk along a curving roadway, which I did not experience any problems but children & pets no matter how much you think you have them under control are unpredictable.
The shop, chip shop should be able to accept cards for transactions.
I would look into allowing dogs into the bar at present it is not allowed.
There is history within the site from WW2 that is neglected & forgotten which is sad
Finally
Our pitch was great so well drained but with so much stone underneath hard to drive pegs into. You cant have it everyway
I think £30 + a wifi charge is a bit to much. WiFi should be included in the price. However we were on a deal with camping NI,.
Would I come back the simple answer is YES.
Oh one last point & I am not a super green person but I would love to see some attempts at recycling
More sign posting to the different parts of the whole Castle Archdale area.
There were things that didn't work for us but that is a personal issue, however the worst was the Virgin WiFi that has to be paid for as an extra is great for phones computers etc. but if you want to use it to watch tv it is crap.

We're having our last nite here now ,it's amazing ,we rented a motor boat 4 half a day for £65 (Best money u could spend ) toilet block is 10/10 and staff can not do enough for u . There is a pub on site a chipper and a shop/coffee shop .internet on site and loads for the kids . Camping 6 years now with 3 young kids and this is by far our favourite.

Loved Castle Archdale. We went on a camping ni weekend there and it was fab. What I liked about it was the lovely lough walks and the entertainment and on site bar. But the best bit of all was Dolakis the Greek food van,the food here was so fresh and delicious and made our trip very special as we love the Greek Islands and have had lovely romantic holidays there so this brought back happy memories and as it was our anniversary it made it really special. The site has hardstanding or grass pitches we preferred the grass pitch as it was prettier. The shop also sells delicious ice cream and there is a good chippy on site to. All in all great site and if you bring kids play park is great. Hope to go back again someday as still haven't explored all the site has to offer.

Stayed at Castle Archdale for the first time in 15 years and it has changed for the better. Weather was 22 degrees and i pretended i was in Spain. I found the staff to be very helpful even when we wanted to move pitches to a sunny pitch. I didn't have kids with me but i would highly recommend this site to family's. The park is outstanding with a pub, shop, and chippy. The shop even does Crepes, and sitting on the wall outside drinking a Guinness in the sun was a treat.
Great cycling routes, walks and why not hire a boat for half a day. We ended up staying on for another day because we found it brilliant. Would i go again? as soon as the sun comes out.
