Campsite Review

Review of Millstone Touring & Camping Park, Newcastle (formerly known as Mourne Campsite) submitted by P Yathindran on 9th April 2018
A gem of a site set into the hillside a mile or so outside Newcastle. Basic campsite( not fully serviced pitches) that more than makes up for it with the beautiful setting and the attention from the owners Terry and Anne.
From The minute you arrive at the gate until the minute you close the gate behind you on the way out you will be well looked after. Terry will tow the caravan up the hill and site the van if your are not confident to do so yourself. Laid out on 3 levels, caravans sit at different angles to get the best view through the trees out to sea, no lining up in rows here! There are electric hook up points scattered throughout the site and a couple of taps for water. At the base of the site there is a small toilet block and a shower and a waste disposal point too. This is spotless and would put some larger sites to shame. There is also a bin and recycling point too. As the owners live on site it is kept immaculate and any problems sorted immediately. Tents are catered for too. We visited for Easter weekend and although full to capacity it was still quiet and peaceful at night. We felt very secure and very sheltered from the elements too. Newcastle is a 5 minute drive away so handy if yu need to pop out or want to go for a drink or meal. Taxis will come to the site of phoned as will the Chinese takeaway delivery! We have booked to return again in the near future.
