Campsite Reviews for Camac Valley Caravan Park

Review for Camac Valley Caravan Park submitted on 16th Aug 2020 by E Murphy

This is a lovely big site. Given the current situ with covid they are doing the best they can. The toilets and showers could use a modern touch but they are clean and useable.

The ranger is lovely and has a brillant wealth of advice of what to do and where to go. We had planned tayto park for one of ur 5 days stay and thanks to him we filled a few more. His advice lead us to the best day out we had was the Irish National Stud. Excellent visit and would defs recommend a visit. Worth every penny.

Would like to stay again when the main toilet block is open. Excellent location for exploring Dublin.

Review for Camac Valley Caravan Park, Dublin submitted on 22nd april 2018 by N McDonald.
We stayed here over Easter weekend. Very nice site with individual spacious pitches surrounded by low hedges. Loads of room to put up your awning and park the car and the kids can still run around within your own boundaries. Toilets and showers were very clean.
Although the weather wasn't the greatest (heavy downpours most nights) our little ones still loved it. There's a large play area in the centre of the park and there was an egg hunt on Easter Sunday morning for all the wee ones which they really enjoyed. The site does have wifi however it's limited to one area and in the reception. The girl in reception did tell us this when we arrived but all the pitches had been taken already so we just used a pitch elsewhere. (No wifi, it's not the end of the world!)
There are buses which stop right at the gate and take you into Dublin regularly and the hop on hop off sight seeing bus comes every morning. But if your like us, with kids and buggies and you want to take the car into town, it's handy to get in and out of the city, just follow the signs (N7/ city centre) straight in and the same back out again.
Some reviews I've read said about the noise of the nearby carriageway but although you can hear it it's not that loud and if you have children with you you'll not hear anything other than them anyway, lol.
The site as a whole seems to be very secure. Large perimeter fence and electric gates. The gates are locked at night and you are given a code to get in and out. Although the inner barriers close at dusk and they cannot be opened until morning so if you arrive back late you have to park at reception car park and walk back to your van. ( I didn't mind this because it means there are no vehicles driving around the park at night).
To finish, I would definitely recommend this site to anyone wanting to visit Dublin in there caravan. It's handy location on the outskirts of the city means your never too far from all the city has to offer but you don't need to pay the high prices that you would get charged if you were staying in the city.

This is our 5th time staying here and never disappointed. Toilets etc very clean never used showers but would say same plus it's up to those staying to keep them that way , extremely busy and lots of kids all having fun we are older couple so got a quieter spot away from kids park etc. Staff here I have always found to be pleasant and extremely helpful and polite . Good to get yourself sorted with pipes and joints to run waste water directly into drain and same with getting water connection as they all have their own taps save 2 jobs you do not have to do especially if your staying a while. Bus service at gate into Dublin or drive about 2 mins towards Tallaght and is a Luss car park and stop ideal for going to Dublin , plus you could drive to Kildare andNewbridge for shopping approx 20 mins or leas( took me 17 mins) to Newbridge and prob an extra 5 mins to Kildare town and the outlet
