Campsite Review

Review ofStrandhill Sligo submitted on 7th June 2018 by G Lowry
Just enjoyed a fabulous long weekend on the strandhill caravan park in Sligo. The park is accessed via a security barrier key fob activated. The toilet/shower facilities are accessed by the same fob.
The majority of pitches are Stoney gravel hard surface. The camp site facilitates tents also. Camping pitches are laid out in rows and Cul de sacs and an organic layout those in tents can camp in the designated tent areas and we seen other’s camped in the dunes with some grass cut to allow this.

The campsite is well situated with the play park, an additional community play park, strandhill soccer pitch, supermarket, pharmacy and airport which hosts a fabulous Sunday market at the entrance.
The beach and strandhill village are located at the other.
We enjoyed the short walk through the park to the village several times daily. The village has several bars/restaurants, fantastic ice-cream/coffee shop, burger bar, surf school and yoga 3 times a week on the beach. The beach is not suited to swimming and quite stoney.

Some pitches for caravan’s, motorhomes could see the sea, we chose to locate near the children’s play park but could still hear the waves.

Whilst there we visited The Glencar Waterfall 30 Mins northeast a lovely free amenity.

We also enjoyed food in Mammy Johnstons, The Draft House, and China City Sligo would recommend all.
