The Rock is a beautiful small family run site on the road to the high
scenic loop of the Mournes. The owners are lovely and the site has stunning
views. It's close to home for us which means we can do short weekend breaks as
well as longer stays. We are going back next weekend and can't wait. The site
is over 3 teirs and as the name would suggest the ground underneath is solid so
bring good awning pegs and a good mallet. The top tier is the best for the view
and site also takes tents with Ehu. There is a shop on site for ice cream and a
nice small tearoom ran by the owner Mary. Ice cream is yummy 😋.
There are two unisex loos on site and one shower which costs a pound to use. We
only occasionally used the loos because we use our caravan loo and shower. All
in all this site is a little hidden gem just outside Newcastle in the stunning
Mourne Mountains.
